The accessible Foiler:
The IODA is a new foiling dinghy created and produced by the Tocatec shipyard, renowned for manufacturing the best Mini 6.50 Proto. This single-handed dinghy is equipped with two side foils as well as a rudder with a lifting surface. It is built in composite by infusion, with aluminum foils, carbon rigging and a mylar sail. The IODA brand, developed by Tocatec, offers a single-handed foiling dinghy, modern, fast and easy to use.

No need to be an expert in sailing to start with the IODA. From the first tacks, you take flight. This boat frees itself from the difficulties of a classic foiler and makes the experience of flight accessible to all.

The IODA is equipped with self-regulating foils with optimized profiles. No need to adjust complicated parameters like the Rake, simply moving the helmsman allows you to control the trim of the boat.

  • Easy to launch:
The IODA is designed with a simplified deck plan and rigging, which makes it much easier to launch. It only takes a few minutes to prepare it. Departures and returns from the beach are as easy as for a classic dinghy. The shape of the hull and the foil descent system have been specially designed to make these steps simpler than with a traditional foiler. Once the foils are lowered, the IODA takes off at 8 knots.
  • Once in flight, the sensations of speed:
Thanks to its light weight and taut hull, the IODA quickly reaches its take-off speed of around 8 knots. From this moment, the speed increases rapidly, with peaks at 23 knots. The lateral foils then provide all their stability. Unlike the T-foils, often used on Moths and requiring great control to manage a counter-heeled flight, the IODA flies flat on its three supports, offering increased stability and safety. The V-shape of the foils also generates great power and a restoring torque, which means that a rappel ladder is not required.
  • Who is the IODA for?
While most foilers require a powerful physique and a substantial size to be mastered, the IODA has been designed for sizes ranging from 35 to 75 kg. This allows young sailors, for example from the Optimist, to discover the joys of foiling. But it is not only for small sizes, since adults, including parents, will also be able to enjoy it, even in light wind conditions.
